Peer Review Policy

Peer review policy

The Peer review policy of International Journal of Medical Science And Advanced Clinical Research (IJMACR) is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. Independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance to help editors determine whether a manuscript should be published in  IJMACR.

The peer review process can be broadly summarized into following steps, although these steps can vary slightly between journals.

1. Submission of Research Article/ Research Paper/ Review Article/ Review Paper/ Case Report

The corresponding or submitting author submits the Manuscript to the IJMACR. This is usually via an online submission and editor mail id:  editor@ijmacr.com  such as Scholar-One Manuscripts. Occasionally, IJMACR may accept submissions by E-mail: editor@ijmacr.com // info@ijmacr.com // editorijmacr@gmail.com

2. Editorial Board Assessment

The EBM of IJMACR checks the manuscript composition and arrangement against the IJMACR  Author Guidelines to make sure it includes the required sections and stylizations. The quality of the manuscript is not assessed at this point.

3. Role of Editor-in-Chief (EIC)

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) checks that the manuscript is appropriate for the IJMACR and is sufficiently original and interesting. If not, the manuscript  may be rejected without being reviewed any further.

4. Editor-in-Chief (EIC) Assigns an Associate Editor (AE)

IJMACR  have Associate Editors who handle the peer review. If they do, they would be assigned at this stage.

5. Invitation to Reviewers

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of IJMACR sends invitations to individuals he or she believes would be appropriate reviewers. As responses are received, further invitations are issued, if necessary, until the required number of  reviewers as 1- 4.

6. Response to Invitated Reviewers

Potential reviewers consider the invitation against their own expertise, conflicts of interest and availability. They then may be accept or may be decline. If possible, when declining, they might also suggest alternative reviewers from both side.

7. Review is Conducted

The reviewer sets time aside to read the manuscript several times. The first read is used to form an initial impression of the work. If major problems are found at this stage, the reviewer may feel comfortable rejecting the manuscript without further work. Otherwise they will read the paper several more times, taking notes so as to build a detailed point-by-point review policy. The review is then submitted to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of IJMACR , with a recommendation to accept or reject it or else with a request for revision  either major or minor before it is reconsidered of manuscript.

8. IJMACR Evaluates the Reviews

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of IJMACR considers all the returned reviews before making an overall decision from revievers side. If the reviews different widely, the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of IJMACR may invite an additional reviewer so as to get an extra opinion before making a final decision.

9. The Decision is Communicated

The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of IJMACR sends a final decision via given E-mail to the author including any relevant reviewer comments. Whether the comments are anonymous or not will depend on the type of peer review that the IJMACR operates.

10.  The Decision Decesion for Publication

If the manuscript Accepted , the manuscript is sent to final publication. If the manuscript  is rejected or sent back for either major or minor revision, the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of IJMACR should include constructive comments from the reviewers to help the author improve the article.
